Overview
Helping people adhere to recommended treatment and prevention regimens, and maintain health behaviors over time, are key focus areas within the behavioral and social sciences. These efforts hold great promise for improving both individual and public health. The NIH Adherence Research Network Scientific Interest Group and OBSSR have been longstanding collaborators in advancing this research.
This presentation will provide an overview of the NIH Adherence Research Network’s current activities and introduce an ongoing initiative on health behavior maintenance research, co-sponsored by OBSSR. These efforts are encapsulated in a research call (NOT-OD-24-146) recently issued by OBSSR, with co-sponsorship from 13 additional NIH Institutes and Offices.
About the BSSR-CC
The NIH Behavioral and Social Sciences Research Coordinating Committee (BSSR-CC) aims to enhance the exchange of information, communication, integration, and coordination of behavioral and social sciences research and training at the NIH. The committee holds alternating closed and open meetings each month. During open BSSR-CC sessions, members of the public are welcome to attend. These meetings focus on topics relevant for the research community awareness and discussion.
