Brief Biography

Katie Hamill, M.P.H., joined the NIH Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR) as a health science policy analyst in July 2024. She contributes to policy, planning, and analysis activities related to the integration of behavioral and social sciences research across NIH. Prior to joining OBSSR, Katie served as a health science policy analyst at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). In this role, she analyzed and reported on mental health research and service activities, emphasizing the public health relevance of NIMH-supported research; developed briefing materials and presentations for NIMH senior leadership; and prepared NIMH contributions to NIH-wide reports, congressional justifications, and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services data calls involving institute-wide issues. Katie also has served as a public health analyst at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases and as a program specialist at the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

Katie holds an M.P.H. from The George Washington University and a B.S. from Villanova University.
