Brief Biography

Adam Politis is a Health Scientist Administrator in the Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research. He is currently on detail to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy serving as the Senior Policy Advisor for Disability and Equity.

Previously at NIH, Adam served as Program Manager for the NIH Common Fund’s Bridge to Artificial Intelligence (Bridge2AI) Program, Special Assistant to the Deputy Director of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, Acting Principal Strategist for People with Disabilities in the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and Chief of the Speech Language Pathology Section of the NIH Clinical Center.

Before joining NIH, Adam worked extensively with people with disabilities in a variety of clinical, research, and administrative roles in healthcare and academia. As a disabled person who has worked with people with disabilities his entire career, Adam is acutely aware of the discrimination individuals with disabilities face and the urgent need to make the world a more equitable, inclusive, and accessible place for all.
