Brief Biography

Samuel LaMunion (Sam), Ph.D., joined OBSSR in December 2024 as a health science policy analyst. Prior to joining OBSSR, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Health Intramural Research Program, working with the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. His research focused on measuring energy metabolism and quantitative physiology using digital health technologies to characterize physical behavior.

Sam received a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science from the University of South Carolina Aiken and a master's degree and doctorate in kinesiology—exercise physiology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
