Empowering Kids in Challenging Times

Child health day recognizes the care and guidance children need to grow strong and healthy -physically, psychologically, and socially. To address pandemic and other child health concerns, various social and behavioral science organizations initiated a coordinated effort (#SBS4Kids) to describe the role the social and behavioral sciences can play in addressing these concerns and empowering our children to thrive in these challenging times.

Violence Research Initiatives

Violence—defined by the World Health Organization as “the intentional use of physical force or power, threatened or actual, against oneself, another person, or against a group or community, that either results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury, death, psychological harm, maldevelopment, or deprivation”—is a significant public health problem that has profound impacts on lifelong health, opportunity, and well-being.
